I’m Will Harlow and I’m the #1 over-50s expert, specialising in nerve pain in Farnham, Surrey. I have a passion for helping people over the age of 50 restore their mobility and remain independent, no matter their age.
I was born in Hampshire and moved to Surrey in 2018. We opened HT Physio here in 2020. The reason I became a physiotherapist in the first place is that I wanted to help people overcome painful problems that hold them back.
When I was young, around the age of four or five, I watched my mum struggle with a severe case of sciatica that kept her in bed for six months. At the time, I didn’t know what was wrong with her, but I knew she was in pain and suffering extensively. That experience sparked my interest in injuries and helping people in pain get back to moving again, so they wouldn’t have to suffer as my mum did.
When I first started in the profession, I worked in the NHS, and I saw the absolute injustice of people over 50 being told there was no hope for them. They were told their problems couldn’t be solved, or even helped. The best advice they received was to take painkillers, rest, avoid doing the things they loved and just hope the pain would go away on its own.
But from my training, I knew we had so much to offer these people. It was a terrible injustice to tell them it was due to their age and that there was no hope. That grievance drove me to start my own practice.
I’m driven by the incredible value I know physiotherapy and nerve regeneration techniques can bring to people who have suffered for years. Helping people regain mobility and independence literally lights me up. It’s the thing that gets me out of bed in the morning, and I’m absolutely honoured and humbled to have a global reach. People all over the world consume my content online through my YouTube channel, and locally, I have a group of people who receive specialised, personalised care right here in the practice.
I understand how important it is to regain the ability to do the things you love because that’s what makes life worth living. I’ve been injured before, and I know it’s no fun when you can’t do something because of pain. You miss out on the things that make you, you. You can’t enjoy life fully when you can’t walk, go to the gym, or spend time with family without worrying about pain. That’s no way to live, and I’m incredibly honoured to bring solutions to people who face those problems.
